This is where we live.

We officially have our condo up for sale. This is a leap of faith for the Hughes family because we don't actually have anywhere to move to. Despite that minor detail, something has to be done so we're taking matters into our hands. Since our house is decluttered and clean for the first time in three years, I thought I'd post the pictures of our beautifully remodeled, move-in ready, 2bdrm 1bathrm 1060sq ft with lots of storage and a beautiful view condo.

You know, just in case you might know someone.

Shane's brother has a real estate license and because he is a good big brother and also astutely interested in the well fare of his niece and nephew, has offered is expertise in selling places to sell our place.

View from our private balcony. Yes, those are tennis courts and basketball courts you're looking at, not a prison yard. Repeat, tennis and bball courts, not prison yard.

We put a lot of work into this kitchen. And by we, I think we all know I mean Shane. The slate floors look really beautiful although you can't really appreciate them in this picture.

These are my famous turquoise walls. Either you luv em' or you hate em'. I luv em'.

Dining room. Yes I'll throw in the vase of Tulips if buy this place!! So you better hurry before they die.

Shane' s favorite piece of furniture in the whole house! wink, wink. He hates this couch, but in my defense it makes the room look enormous.

See the armoire, I'm sitting there right this moment typing this very word. The art work above the fireplace is my favorite accessory in the house. It says, "It'll cost nothing to dream, and everything not to." with a tall glass of iced lemonade. The artwork above the sofa in the previous photo says, "Share a random moment." with a picture of two cups of coffee. (Sorry if the coffee offends anyone. Well, not really.)

Here is the spare bedroom, which in our case is the master bedroom. It's just too small for our two kids to sleep and play, so they got the "actual" master bedroom. (Feel free to nominate us for parents of the year.)

Here's the kid's/"actual" master bedroom. You would think that giant sized bunny on Avery's be would scare my kids, but it doesn't.

Last, but most important, El Bano.
I know that this doesn't look like the place of someone who has an associates degree in Interior Design, but one day, when I get over my obsessive compulsive behavior to save money rather than spend it (which some people confuse with being "cheap") I will have the home of my dreams. At which point you may still think it does not look like the home of someone with an associates degree in interior design.
Thank you and have a lovely day.

cute, cute, cute! I also love the pic over the fireplace. GREAT quote! Will that stay along with the tulips?

uhhh... why are you moving? What is it that forces the current game plan? ie: selling cute, cute cute condo...

I think it's a Stott gene which may be at the root of the obsessive compulsive drive to save money. And in your case, you've been hit with a double whammy. Your mom tells me it's also a strong instinct on the Russell side.

What? A picture of not one, but TWO cups of coffee in your home? gasp! Someone grab the smelling salts... I feel I may faint. I must call Chandi and tell her to have her children keep their distance at the re-union. What other kinds of sinful thoughts might they be exposed to?

I caught a glilmpse of the slate floors... lookin GOOD!

An associate's degree in interior design, you say? That explains the cool decor. I'd love to take a peek inside of your mind to see what your dream home looks like. Bet it'd knock my socks off. And quite possibly cause a little coveting.

Cute place. I can't say I love or hate your walls...I'm not sure about them- they maybe growing on me. So why are you moving? and to where? Please tell all.

It really is amazing what you have done with your place. After you sell it, you should put up some before and after pictures.

I, for one, have always liked the turqoise walls. But then, you've seen the loud color of my kitchen.

I also really like the shiny new stove- just in time for you to leave, huh?

Fabulous Carrie, and gosh dang it Shane, I loooovvee that couch.

Nice new rug too- I look at anything white and cringe, so you are very brave, or I guess it is that interior designer in you.

And the walls look EVEN BETTER in person. Very soothing, Caribbean-like.

Funny, I just went to a museum exhibit all about coffee. Coffee reminds me of Grandma Russell and her next door neighbor. She would give me coffee flavored candy- so yummy.

goodluck!

Care-bear,

Your place looks amazing. Reminds me of how you clean it every time we come to visit. You wanna come clean our place and help us rent it?

I vote yes on the torquoise. Why not bring a little beach in the house, it never hurt anyone. You guys have done a great job with the place and it will be a cry'n shame if someone don't jump all over this great deal.

When you get that dream house, don't forget to invite the Riggs to come and spend the summers there.

love ya!

Carrie,
I love your pictures and your comments. This blogging can become very addictive; so is obsessive/compulsive and blogging a good mix??
Your new rug is wonderful and the Carribbean blue colors so refreshing. Enough of the Toscany look!
And the two cups of hot chocolate, er er coffee? It brings back fond memories of the strong aroma of Grandma Petra's Danish very black coffee with the adults sitting around her kitchen table chatting for what seemed like hours at a time.
No need to worry. Remember, our house is ready for you so that you aren't homeless!
Love Mom

I'm so glad you blogged your home since I still haven't made it to see all that work you've done in person. It's beautiful! Good job you guys! We all want to know the reason for selling. Good luck, hope you get what you want out of it.
